Digital Penguin Releases LocationResources Extra for MODX

Our lead developer, Murray, is a contributor to the greatest open-source Content Management System (CMS) in existence: MODX.

LocationResources is an extra for the MODX framework that is designed to make configuring and integrating Google Maps with your website a breeze.

It features a friendly drag-and-drop interface that non-technical users love, and it "just works" out of the box.

Whatever location you configure in the manager interface will be pushed through and appear on the public-facing side of your website. You can independently configure the map position and an optional marker position. You can also choose to add an info window to the specified marker.

There's no need to just stop at one map either, as each map is attached to a standard MODX resource, they can be listed in the same way one might list page titles or links using popular tools such as getResources or pdoTools.

If you have the 'know-how', you'll be pleased to discover that each maps output is completely customisable. Default chunks are provided for the HTML template, the CSS and the JavaScript. These can be duplicated and then modified in whatever way suits you.

LocationResources can be directly installed via the package manager within MODX, or can be downloaded and manually installed from https://modx.com/extras/package/locationresources.
